How to: easily create lots of content for Instagram
Feeling like you have to paint every day just so you have content to post on Insta?
When I started my Instagram account in summer 2018 I had to paint a lot, because I needed to have content for my IG feed. For about six months I was painting non stop just to have content to post on my Instagram page. That was very exhausting because I was working full time and I get it, no one wants to spend all their time creating content for a social media platform.
As you know, good quality content, which you upload consistently is the key to success on any social media platform. Nowadays I can create a lot of different content from just a few paintings. I've found a few great ways to photograph the same painting so many times and make all photos look different and interesting. I know that many artists can work on a painting for a long period of time, or they just don't have time to paint everyday and it's okay. You just need to find a few creative ways to photograph your artwork and a few other things you can shoot to fill your feed with great content.
Today I'll share with you my favorite creative ways to make great content, so you have a variety in your IG feed.
You can take pictures of your studio, tools you paint with, create a beautiful mess like the banner photo, few paintings together, paintings in interior and many more, so many options, just be creative and find what works for you and your style.
Examples of what you can take pictures of:
Painting (on a wall, in hand, in interior, on a furniture, outside in nature, on the easel)
Close up shots of ( painting, palette, brushes and tools you use, your setup/work space)
Your studio or the area where you create artwork
Your portrait, you working in a studio, making new paintings
A beautiful mess where you combine paintings with fun decor pieces (banner photo)
A few paintings together, a collection of paintings, few paintings in the interior, gallery wall
Your shipping materials and paintings ready to be shipped, art supplies
Artwork that you have in your home, photos of artwork from collector’s home
WIP, shots of a painting at different stages
Video of you working on a piece, mixing colors, choosing composition or subject
Timelapse video of a painting
Photos of you shooting, or a photo of your camera and the painting you take pictures of
a flatlay with your art supplies, paintings, brushes and tools

The possibilities are endless, also you can look at what other artists take pictures of and get inspired by that. Now that you got inspired to shoot, I'd suggest you to try a few different angles and just have fun with it. Photography is as creative as making an artwork, try to make it fun for yourself, turn on some music and enjoy the process of creating beautiful pictures.
